3. Indications for Use.
Used for treatment of allergic seasonal and all-year-round rhinitis, chronic hives, allergic conjunctivitis, itching of skin, angioedema. It is also possible to use the drug for treatment and therapy of complex dermatitis, bronchial asthma and chronic eczema.
4. Action
The drug action becomes visible in 1-2 hours after the first consumption. The medication works by soothing the signs of allergic rhinitis, such as runny nose, sneezing, itching, stuffed nose and lacrimation. It is effective in retardation of reactions of skin.
5. Posology and Administration
Adults and children of age 12 and older are advised to take 1 tablet of Cetirizine of 10mg one time a day in the evening.
Children at the age of 6-12 and with mass of body smaller than 30kg should take half of a tablet � 5mg per day in the evening. Children, whose mass of body is over 30kg, are allowed to take 1 pill (10mg) in the evening. It is also allowed to take a half a pill two times a day in the morning and in the evening.
It is recommended to use twice smaller dose for treatment of patients, who have failure of kidney.
In liver functioning disorders the dosage should be defined individually, with especial caution, in case of combination with kidney disorder.
Elderly patients with proper kidney functioning have no need to corrent the dose.
For treatment of allergic seasonal rhinitis in adult patients, the treatment should usually last for 3-6 weeks, while 1 week therapy should be used for achievement of short-term allergen effect. Children older than 6 years of age can be treated for as long as 2-4 weeks and short-term allergen effect can come after the first week of treatment.

7. Should Be Taken with Precautions, if…
In case of suffering from kidney failure in chronic form in medium or severe manifestation level (it is needed to correct the dosage regime) and for elderly patients.
The medication should be administered with precaution in case of chronic pyelonephritis in heavy and medium level of severity (necessary to correct regime of doses) and in elderly patients.
8. Interface with Other Medications
If the medication needs to be combined with treatment with other medications, it is better to advise with your doctor in order to avoid possible undesired side effects of the interference of the drugs.
9. Overdosing
The maximum single-shot dose should not exceed 50mg, if taking more, it will be accompanied with symptoms of intoxication, such as drowsiness. Children in case of getting overdose might feel overexcited, irritated and anxious. ANtiholinergic signs might be worsened and come out in the form of retention of urine, constipation and dryness of mouth.

Side effects on digestive system: indigestion, dryness of mouth.
Side effects on central nervous system: drowsy and tired feelings, headache, dizziness, migraine, over-excitement.
Allergy reactions: hives, skin itching and rash, angioedema.
The medication is well-tolerable. The side effects usually come up in rare cases and are not very severe.
11. Pregnancy and Lactation
It is not allowed to use the drug during the period of pregnancy. If it is needed to go through treatment during lactation period, breast-feeding should be stopped.

Try to avoid performing potentially hazardous activities during the treatment, as you might have problems performing tasks, which will require your alertness and precise concentration of attention, as well as speed of psychomotor reactions.
