ALLERGY ADDICTION: ARE YOU AN ALLERGY ADDICT?

1. Do you often yearn for a particular food, to wear a particular perfume or to smoke a cigarette?
2. Do you feel dissatisfied unless you eat that food, wear that perfume or smoke that cigarette?
3. Do you feel any of the following symptoms before eating that food, wearing that perfume or smoking? Weakness, tiredness, headaches, restlessness, depression, irritability?
4. Do the above symptoms disappear after indulging in that particular craving?
5. Will you go out of your way to find a food or perfume or cigarette brand that you crave?
6. Do you daydream about eating a certain food, the smell of a certain perfume or cigarette?
7. Do you stock up on this food, perfume, cigarette to make sure that you have a good supply?
8. Do you regularly cook a certain food, or buy books on how to prepare it?
9. Do you feel dissatisfied unless you finish a meal with something sweet?
10. Are you well-known among your friends for a certain recipe?
11. Do you keep your favourite chocolate bar in your purse or pocket so that you may munch on it through the day?
12. Do you go on eating binges?
13. Do you wake up and raid the fridge at night?
14. Do you need to have a snack (always containing the same food) before you can sleep at night?
If you have any of the allergy symptoms, have tried unsuccessfully to cure them through conventional medicine and answer 'yes' to five or more of the above questions then you have an allergy addiction.
Because most addictive allergies are to food or the chemicals in a given food, it is very likely that you will be over-weight—as a result of both fat and fluid increase. If you have trouble reducing your weight or keeping it down and can answer 'yes' to three or more of the above questions then you are most certainly suffering from an addictive allergy to a given food.
