3. Indications for Use.

Used for treatment of bronchial asthma for patients who have hypersensitivity to aspirin, for long-term treatment and prevention of bronchial asthma, for prevention of nocturnal and diurnal symptoms of asthma, for prevention of attacks of bronchospasms, caused by physical activities.

4. Action

Singulair is effective for treatment of bronchial asthma and different bronchospasmodic conditions, as it has bronchodilatory effect.

5. Posology and Administration

The medication can be taken with or without a meal orally. In case of treatment of bronchial asthma, it is recommended to take the medication in the evening.

For treatment of adult patients (of age 15 and older).
Dose for treatment of adult patients and teenagers of age 15 or older is 10mg per day (1 tablet).

Treatment of children from age of 6 to 14.
For treatment of children from age 6 up to 14 it is recommended to use chewing tablets in dose of 5mg per day. The dose doesn�t need to be selected for this age group.
The medication can be used for treatment of elderly patients with no need to select specific dosage for them. There is no difference between doses for males and females either.

6. Counterindications

Childhood age below 6 years of age, periods of breagnancy and breast-feeding, hypersensitivity to medication.

be cautious, when using the medication for treatment of patients, who have compromised functioning of liver.

8. Interface with Other Medications

When there is a need to combine treatment with Singulair with any other drugs, consult your doctor first to see, if this combination will not be harmful for your health.

9. Overdosing

Overdosing may cause pupil dilatation, drowsiness, convulsions, thirst, stomach pains.

10. Side Effects

The medication may provoke reactions of hypersensitivity (such as allergic suffocation, nearing to death conditions caused by such allergic reaction as, itching of skin, rashes, hives and rare cases considerable impairment of liver functioning); drowsiness, unusually bright dreams; irritability; hallucinations; agitation, even reaching the state of mental disorder; insomnia; fatigability; tingling and benumbed sensation (in some cases, creeping sensation), hypersensitivity, low sensation upon external irritant. And very rare – nausea; convulsion attacks; vomiting, stomach pains, diarrhea; headache; muscle and joint pains; convulsions of muscles; edemas; tendency of increased bleeding and deep blood effusions; heartbeat.

11. Pregnancy and Lactation

Singulair can be used in the period of pregnancy and during breast-feeding, in case if the expected favor for mother is more important that the rosk of harming the baby or the fetus.

12. Driving

Singulair is not known to affect the ability of driving vehicles, therefore it is allowed to drive and operate machinery during treatment.
