Indications for Use.

The medication is applied for treating of genera forms of breast cancer in women, who have gone through menopause (hormonotherapy line 1 and 2).

Action

Arimidex works as a hormonal drug with anti-tumor effect.

Posology and Administration

1mg of Arimidex should be administered orally one time a day for adults and elderly patients.
The medication is not advised for treatment of children.
In case of problems with kidney functioning there is no need to adjust a dose, especially if patients have mild to moderate kidney functioning disorders.
In case of problems with liver functioning there is no need to adjust the dose, especially for patients with mild forms of the sickness.

Counterindications

Arimidex is counter-indicated for use in case of:
If woman is in pre-menstrual stage;
In the period of lactation and pregnancy;
Serious problems with kidney functioning in patients;
Serious problems with liver functioning in patients;
If patients are hypersensitive to Arimidex active ingredient or any other components, containing in the drug, which are indicated on the product packaging.

Should Be Taken with Precautions, if…

It is not advised to prescribe Arimidex for treatment of children, as the efficiency and safety of the medication has not yet been detected for this age group of people.
Women in the age of capability to reproduction are not allowed to use Arimidex. If there are any doubts regarding the health condition of a patient and its hormonal menopause status, it is dvised to perform biochemical testing.
There are no data on Arimidex safety in patients with moderate or evidenced compromised kidney function.

Interface with Other Medications

Overdosing

No cases of getting overdosed in people have been described. If you get overdosed, it is likely that the possibility and extent of side effects will grow.
