3. Indications for Use.
Used for treatment of allergic rhinitis (for fast cancellation of symptoms like running nose, sneezing, rhinedema, itching, stuffy nose, blear-eyedness, eye itching, hyperemia of conjunctiva, palate and cough itching), pollinosis, chronic ideopatic hives (can reduce the itching, number and size of the rashes elements on skin).
4. Action
Besides working as an anti-histamine, Desloratadine also has an anti-inflammatory and anti-allergic reaction, it is able to resolve the presentations of different reactions, which are the basis for the allergic inflammation progressions.
The medication can be found in the plasma of blood during 30 minutes after taking the drug. The highest concentration in plasma of blood is reached in 3 hours, and the general half-life of the medication is 27 hours. 90% of the drug is cleared through kidney and 10% goes out through the intestinal tract.
5. Posology and Administration
Desloratadine is administered orally. It is advised to use the medication at the exact same time each day, no matter with or without a meal. The medication should be taken with a small amount of water. Swallow the pill in a whole, without chewing it or crushing.
Adults and children patients of 12 years or older should administer the drug once a day in the dose of 5mg (1 tablet) or 10mg (syrup).
Children should take the medication in the form of syrup once a day. For children at the age of 2 to 5, the dose should be 1.25 mg for tablets and 2.5ml for syrup. For children at the age from 6 to 11, the dose should be 2.5mg for pills and 5ml for syrup.
6. Counterindications
Hypersensitivity to the components of the medication and the active ingredient of the drug � Desloratadine.
The drug is not recommended for treatment during pregnancy, as there were no sufficient clinical studies done to determine, if it�s safe for the group of patients in such condition. Desloratadine is excreted in the breast-milk, therefore women in the period of lactation, who are breast-feeding should not take the medication.

The efficiency and safety of the use of syrup for treatment of babies under 6 months of age has not yet being determined, as well as the tablets for treatment of children under 12 years of age.
In case of failure of kidney functioning it is not advised to use the drug for treatment.

8. Interface with Other Medications
