- Indications for Use.
Used for treatment of endometrosis, which is connected with fertility problems, neo benign formations of lacteal glands (as well as chronic cystic mastitis), premenstrual syndrome, primary menorrhagia, gynecomastia, primary sexual precocity. It can also be used for treatment of various kinds of aggravations (abdominal, cutaneous, laryngeal) in cases, which involve hereditary angiodema.
- Action
Danazol is a medication which consists of hormones and has the ability to suppress ovaries� activity, thus inhibiting ovulation and causing endometrium atrophy. It also lowers the pain syndrome in women.
- Posology and Administration
The medication is developed for oral intake and should be taken 2-4 times a day. Start taking the medication on the first day of menstrual period. In case of treatment of endometrosis, start taking the medication in the dose of 400mg per day, and in future treatment it is possible to increase the dose up to 800mg. The course of treatment should last for 6 months. As a post-surgical preparation, the medication should be taken in dose of 300-400mg per day for 1-2 months before surgery. In case of treatment of premenstrual syndrome and menorrhagias, the medication should be taken in dose of 100-400 mg per day for a period of 3 months. In case of treatment of mastopathy, take 300mg for 3-6 months. For treatment of sexual precocity in children the daily dose of 100-400mg is used and the length of treatment course should be determined individually. As a preventive treatment against angiodema the dose for start of treatment should be 200mg, with further lowering of dose (unless aggravation appear) for about 1 to 3 months.
- Counterindications
Epilepsy, sugar diabetes, migraine, elderly age, disorder of the mechanism of hemostasis plasmatic.
Lacteal glands cancer, hypersensitivity to components of the medication, androgen-dependent tumors, porphyria (there is a possibility of excavation of the illness), prostate cancer, manifestations of failure of heart, tromboembolia, pregnancy, bleedings of genitals (before finding out the reason for them), breast-feeding, acute hepatic or renal failure.
