3. Indications for use:
The medication should be used for treatment of schizophrenia, though can also be used for other conditions, which should be determined by a doctor.
4. Action
Loxitane has a tricyclin action and is an antipsychotic drug. It is not known exactly, how the medication works.
5. Posology and Administration

7. Should Be Taken with Precaution if…
Loxitane interacts with some medical conditions. Inform your medical consultant of doctor if you have any special conditions, especially is you have any of the following: pregnancy, breast-feeding, planning to become pregnant, intake of any prescription or nonprescription drugs, intake of herbal medications, intake of dietary supplement, if you are allergic to medications, some substances or foods, if you have previously had some kind of mental problems, glaucoma, heart problems, difficulty of urination or were in group of risk for developing difficult urination, breast cancer, Parkinson disease, liver problems, cancer or brain growths, seizures, a stomach blockage, if you are severely diseased or are very weak, if you have dependency on alcohol or drink alcohol in excessive amounts on a regular basis.
During intake of Loxitane drinking of alcohol should be avoided as well as intake of any medications, which can lead to drowsiness (such as tranquillizers and sedatives). Such symptoms are also possible in case of using low doses and for a short period of time. Inform your doctor, if you get any of the following: involuntary movements of the face, tongue, jaw or mouth (such as, protrusion of tongue, puckering of mouth, puffing of cheeks, chewing movements), in some cases these can be combined with involuntary legs and arms movements.
Loxitane should be used with special caution for treatment of elderly patients, as they are usually more sensitive to development of side effects. The medication is not recommended for use in children, as its effectiveness and safety were not yet confirmed.
8. Interface with Other Medications:
Loxitane has the ability to interact with some medications. Inform your doctor or medical specialist about any medications, which you are currently taking, especially if you are taking any of the following: narcotic drugs (such as codeine), Barbiturates (for example, phenobarbital), or sodium oxybate ( GHB) due to the fact that the risk of side effects, for example severe drowsiness, can be increased. Use of anticholinergics (such as, trihexyphenidyl) has the ability to increase side effects from Loxitane. 9. Overdosing:

11. Pregnancy and Lactation:
In case if pregnancy emerges, it is necessary to consult with your doctor about the possible risks and benefits of use of Loxitane in the process of pregnancy. It is not known, whether Loxitane is excreted into human milk or not, but it is better to understand possible risks for the baby, if using Loxitane for treatment during breast-feeding period.
12. Driving
It is not allowed to drive vehicles, operate machinery, or perform any other activities, which can be potentially haardous before understanding individual reaction to Loxitane treatment. When Loxitane is used in combination with other medications or with alcohol, the ability to drive or perform other activities, which can be potentially hazardous, will be affected.
