3. Indications for Use.

Used for treatment of vomiting, nausea, hiccup of different genesis (in case of toxemia, disruption of dieting, X-ray therapy, intake of certain medications (like morphine), in post-surgerical periods, radiographic contrast studies, and endoscopic examinations. For treatment of post-surgical hypotension and atony of bowel and stomach, meteorism, dyskinesia of bile passages, esophageal reflux, cholangitis, cholecystitis, different kinds of dyspepsia.

4. Action

Domiperidone has the ability to activate the work of stomach. It has the anti-vomiting effect, eliminates nausea and smoothes the hiccup down.

5. Posology and Administration

Take 10mg of Domiperidone 15-30 minutes before meal 3 times a day for treatment of adult patients and children above 5 years of age. If it is necessary, it is allowed to take additional pill of 10mg before going to bed. In serious cases of vomiting and nausea or in case of evidenced form of dyspepsia take 20mg 3-4 times a day. In case of suffering from failure of kidney, dose and frequency of intakes should be lower.

6. Counterindications

Obstruction of mechanical bowel, gastrointestinal hemorrhage, hypersensitivity, disorder of hormonal level, benign tumor, breastfeeding, pregnancy, children of age under 1 year.

7. Should Be Taken with Precautions, if…

Do not take Domeperidone as a preventive measure for vomiting after surgery. Take medication with caution, if you suffer from compromised functioning of kidney or liver.

8. Interface with Other Medications

Discus with your doctor if it is allowed to combine Domeperidone with any other medications.

9. Overdosing

Symptoms of getting overdosed include: disorientation, drowsiness, disorder of motor system (particularly in children).

10. Side Effects

Side effects on alimentary system: transient enterospasms. Side effects on nervous system: disturbances of motor functions (in children and in patients with elevated permeability of hematoencephalic barrier). Reactions of allergies: hives, rashes of skin. Others reactions: disturbance of hormonal level (pathologic unprompted flow of milk from lacteal glands, increased size of lacteal glands in males).

11. Pregnancy and Lactation

Domperidone should not be administered during pregnancy, unless there is a severe necessity.
Domperidone is excreted into milk of mother, therefore should not be used by nursing patients.

12. Driving

Be especially cautious, when driving a vehicle or operating any kind of machinery, while being treated with Domperidone, as the medication can cause worsening of attention concentration, which can affect your psychomotor functioning.
