Cefdinir is usually applied for treatment of infections, which are caused by bacterias gram-negative or gram-positive.

5. Posology and Administration

The drug should be taken in the following regime and dosage:
for children - 14 mg per 1 kg a day.
Maximal allowed dose per day is 500 mg.

Hypersensitivity to the medication.

In case of hypersensitivity to cephalosporins, penicillins, components of the drug and other beta-lactam antibiotics. The medication should be taken cautiously in the period of pregnancy and lactation, as well as in patients under the age of 12 years old (as efficiency and safety have not yet been determined), in case of diseases of intestinal tract (even anamnesis), such as ulcerative colitis, antibiotic-associated colitis, regional enteritis, serious chronic disease of kidney.

9. Overdosing

Symptoms include convulsions, encephalopathy, excitement, and usually appear in patients with chronic disease of kidney. Hemodialysis should be used for treatment.

10. Side Effects

Reactions of allergies include: itching, skin rash, fever. Side effects on nervous system: insomnia, dizziness, headache, anxious feeling, convulsions, consciousness confusion. Side effects on urogenital system: vaginitis. Side effects on urinary system: compromised functioning of kidneys. Side effects on intestinal system: nausea, diarrhea, vomiting, stomach pains, constipations. Side effects on composition of blood and blood formation: dysfunction of formation of blood and composition of blood, bleedings. Side effects on respiratory system: coughing. Side effects on cardio-vascular system: edemas, labored breathing, tachycardia. Other side effects: high perspiration, throat pain, backache, superinfection progression. Symptoms: excitement, encephalopathy, convulsions. Often appear in patients with chronic disease of kidney). Hemodialysis should be used for treatment.

11. Pregnancy and Lactation

Medication is not allowed during pregnancy. Refrain from breast-feeding when treated with the medicine.
