3. Indications for Use.

-  duodenal and gastric ulcers of the recrudescence stage;
-  duodenal and gastric ulcers connected with Helicobacter pylori (gastric and intestinal tract helicobacteriosis);
-  reflux-esophagitis, gastroesophageal reflux;
-  syndrome of Zollinger-Ellison;
-  gastric and intestinal tract ulcers caused by stress.

4. Action

Raberprazole Sodium causes a long-term and evidenced decrease of formation of hydrochloric acid.

5. Posology and Administration

Raberprazole Sodium needs to be taken before morning meal. Pills should be swallowed in whole, without chewing or crushing. Take 20mg one time a day for a period of 4 weeks, if you have gastric ulcer in a recrudescence stage. For treatment of duodenal ulcers, take 10-20mg one time a day for a period of 6 weeks. For treatment of disease of gastroesophageal reflux take 20mg one time per day for 4-8 weeks. After treatment it is allowed to use supporting therapy, taking 10-20mg of medication one time a day. For treatment of H.pyroli infection Raberprazole Sodium should be taken for 7 days as part of combined triple therapy in the dose of 20mg two times a day, combined with clarithromycin (in dose of 500mg per day) and amoxicillin (dose of 100mg per day).

6. Counterindications

During pregnancy and period of lactation, in case of hypersensitivity. Be careful when using the medication for treatment of children and patients with failure of liver.

7. Should Be Taken with Precautions, if…

Prior to starting the treatment with Raberprazole Sodium eliminate stomach malignant neoplasms. Be very cautious during the first-time intake of Raberprazole Sodium, especially if a patient has serious problems with liver functioning.
Raberprazole Sodium is not advised for treatment of children, as there has been no experience of the use of this medication for treatment of kids.

9. Overdosing

10. Side Effects

Side effects on the organs of gastro-intestinal tract: nausea, diarrhea, more rare – vomiting, constipation, stomach aches; rare – belching, dry mouth, in singular cases – anorexia, disturbances of taste, gastritis, stomatitis.
Side effects on the sense bodies and nervous system: headaches; more rare  — insomnia, dizziness; very rare — drowsiness, nervousness; in individual cases — disorders of vision, depression.
Side effects on the locomotor system: calves convulsions, pains in legs.

11. Pregnancy and Lactation

Raberprazole Sodium is not allowed for intake in the period of pregnancy, as there has been no accurate medical information, which could prove the safety and efficiency of use of this medication in pregnancy period. Raberprazole Sodium can be taken in the period of lactation, but only if breast-feeding is stopped (as it is unknown, if the medication is excreted in breast milk or not).
