- Indications for Use.
For treatment of sugar diabetes type 2 insulin-independent.

Pioglitazone works by deflating the level of sugar in blood.
- Posology and Administration
Pioglitazone is administered orally once a day for treatment of adults. The dose can be taken with or without meals. The dose for treatment should be defined individually. Pioglitazone starting dose should be 15mg, and can be increased in future up to 30mg per day. For monotherapy the maximum dose taken daily is 45mg. For combined therapy the dose is 30mg per day. Starting dose for therapy combined with insulin treatment is 15-30 mg per day, the dose of insulin should remain at the same level or can be decreased by 10-25%.
- Counterindications
The drug should not be taken if a patient is hypersensitive to components of the drug, if he suffers of aggravation of acute sugar diabetes, if a woman is pregnant or if breast-feeding. It is not allowed to use the drug for treatment of patients under 18 years of age, as efficiency of application of this medicine in this age group has not yet been defined.

Interface with Other Medications
It is possible to use the medication in combination with other drugs only if your doctor tell you to do so. Consult your doctor and inform him if you are taking any other medications.

Pregnancy and Lactation
