Indications for Use.

Inflammatory-infectious illnesses, which are caused by microorganisms, which are affected by the drug, including urinary tract diseases, diseases of upper and lower respiratory tracts, problems with bones, soft tissues and skin.

Action

Cefadroxil has anti-bacterial antibiotic action. Its anti-microbal effect has a very large specter: it works effectively against gram-negative and gram-positive microorganisms.

Posology and Administration

Administration and dosage of the drug should be defined individually, depending on the severity of disease and course, as well as infection localization and causative agent�s sensitivity. The administration of the medication should be strictly oral both for children (body mass over 40kg) and adults in the dose of 1-2g per day, which should be taken in two intakes. Children with less than 40kg body weight should tak 25-50mg per one kg of weight per day (it�s better to administer in the form of suspension) in 1-2 intakes. The treatment should continue for 1-2 weeks.

Counterindications

Take Cefadroxil with caution, if you are hypersensitive to active ingredient and in the period of lactation and pregnancy, as well as in case of diseases of intestinal tract and serious renal failure in chronic form.

Use the medication cautiously if the patient has allergic reactions to any components of the drug, or if in juvenile or elderly age.
Patients, who have chronic failure of kidney functioning or severe compromised functioning of liver or intestinal tract.

Overdosing

Symptoms of getting overdosed: convulsions, hallucinations, nausea, coma and mental fog, likewise compromised functioning of kidney.

Side Effects

Possibility of allergic reactions, such as itching of skin and hives, vomiting, nausea, diarrhea, dizziness, headaches. In some cases there is a possibility of having changed picture of peripheral blood and compromised functioning of kidney.

Pregnancy and Lactation

Cefadroxil is not allowed for use during pregnancy and breast-feeding should be stopped during treatment.
