Indications for Use.

Forf treatment of arterial hypertension.

Action

Telmisartan has the ability to lower arterial tension.

Posology and Administration

Take medication orally with or without meal in one intake of 20-40mg per day. The dose can be increased to 80mgm, if necessary. Patients, who have moderate problems with compromised functioning of liver should not take daily dose of more than 40mg.

Counterindications

Bile passages obstruction, improper compromised liver or kidney functioning, hypersensitivity, breast-feeding and pregnancy periods.

Should Be Taken with Precautions, if…

Administer medication with caution for treatment of patients, who hace compromised functioning of kidney, serious failure of heart, compromised functioning of liver, gastric ulcers, disease of intestinal tract organs, disease of peptic ulcers.
Use of Telmisartan should be limited in childhood and teenage years, as there is no information about efficiency and safety of its use on children and adolescents.

Interface with Other Medications

Do not use the medication in combination with any other medicines without doctor�s order.

Overdosing

Symptoms of getting overdosed: evidenced decrese of arterial tension.

Side Effects

Side effects on respiratory system: > 1% - cough, flu-like symptoms, pharyngitis, reduction of tolerance to infections of upper respiratory tract. Others side effects: > 1% - myalgia, pain in the chest and loins, urinary tract infections, uric acid rate elevation, fall of hemoglobin contents.

Pregnancy and Lactation

Telmisartan is not allowed during pregnancy. If there is a pregnancy planned, try to beforehand replace Telmisartan with another medical substitute, which has anti-hypertensive action. Do not breast-feed during treatment.
