- Posology and Administration
It is recommended to use Aripiprazole for both start of treatment and supporting therapy in doses of 15mg per day.
Elderly patients. If patients are 65 years of age or older, the dose rates should be decreased. People of this age group are much more likely to have different side effects, therefore a dose for start of treatment should be around 10mg per day. Those patients, who have not previously been through a therapy with use of anti-psychotic medications, should also be treated with smaller doses of Aripiprazole of 10mg per day.
Young patients. The effect of Aripiprazole on young patients has not yet been completely studied, therefore administration of Aripiprazole in young patients should be performed with extreme caution. The starting dose should not be more than 15mg per day. If the drug is well-tolerated during the period of the first 7 days of treatment, the dose can be gradually increased.

If hypersensitive to active ingredient of the Aripiprazole drug or its other ingredients, as well as if younger than 18 years of age.

Patients suffering from the following health problems should be treated with Aripiprazole with caution:
- Patients, who have cardio-vascular problems, such as previous myocardial infraction, ischemic heart disease or heart failure;
- Hypotension and predilection to the drug;
- Patients, who suffer from attacks of convulsion, or any disease, which can cause convulsions;
- Excessively sweating patients, those who constantly have intensive physical activities, take anticholinergic medications, overheated, those having water depletion (like the ability to damage thermal regulation by the neuroleptics);
- People with elevated aspiration pneumonia risk (caused by high risk of motor function damage of aspiration and esophagus;
- Obese patients;
- Patients with diabetes or those, who have diabetes in their family.

- Overdosing
Overdosing symptoms include vomiting, diarrhea, nausea, asthenia and drowsy feelings.
- Side Effects
Possible side effects might include:
Cardio-vascular system: heart dilatation, flutter of atrial, fainting fits, thrombophlebitis, brain ischemia, intracranial hemorrhage, irregular heartbeating, myocardial infractions, arrest of heart, ischemia of myocardia, thrombosis deep in veins, significant decrease of tension in arteries, phlebitis, tachycardia.
Gastro-enteric system: increased of appetite, meteorism, problems of deglutitive, gastritis, gingivitis, caries of tongue, hemorrhoids, hemorrhages of gastro-enteric system, edema of tongue, incontinence of fecal, colitis, stomatitis, bleedings in rectal area, mouth ulcers, cholecystitis, mucus candidiasis coating in the mouth, disease of biliously-stone, ulcers in gastric tract, belching, dyspepsia, constipation and vomiting, nausea, decreased appetite.
Immune system: reactions of allergies (angioneurotic edema, hives or itching).
Nervous system: euphoria, memory weakness, delirium, amnesia, stupor, brain insult, self-confidence disorder, hyperactivity, jerking of muscles, loss of attention concentration, syndrome of restlessness, broken spirit, reinforcement of reflexes, ideational function retardation, excitors hypersensitivity, hypotony, oculomotor response disorder, tremors and dizzy feelings, excitement of psychomotor, syndrome of extrapyramidal, nervous and depressed feelings, high salvation, suicidal inclinations, hostility, manic disorders, rickety walk, fog in mentality, passive motions fulfillment reluctance, drowsy feelings, insomnia, high or low libido levels, impotency.
- Pregnancy and Lactation
Abilify can be taken during pregnancy in case if the potential positive effect of treatment is bigger than the potential risks of harming the unborn baby. It is not recommended to breast-feed, while treated with the medication.
