3. Indications for Use.

   — depressions that occur as a result of various factors, which hurt mind and neurotic depressions;
   — maniacal-depressive states (including long vexatious-delirious and schizophrenic);

    — chronic painful syndromes.
    

4. Action

Anafranil is effective for general treatment of depressive syndrome, including depressive spirits, psychomotor retardation, anxious feeling. Anafranil has positive effect on chronic pain syndrome as well as it can be effectively used for treatment of obsessional mental aberration.

5. Posology and Administration

Administration and posology should be chosen individually, depending on individual condition of each patient. Average dose is 75-100mg of the medication daily. For treatment of panic disorders Anafranil is usually used in dose of 25-100mg per day. It is recommended to start treatment from 1 75mg tablet taken once a day or 1 25mg tablet taken 2-3 times per day. For treatment of panic disorders start treatment with 1 10mg tablet per day. Do not cancel treatment with Anafranil abruptly.
It is recommended to use the medication in a way that the desired result of treatment is achieved with using the lowest possible doses of the drug and gradually increasing the doses. This particularly applies to treatment of teenagers and elderly people, who are especially sensitive to the treatment (more sensitive than patients of average age groups).

6. Counter indications

    — parallel administration of other medications without order of a doctor
    — hypersensitivity to Clomipramine or any other antidepressants
    — recent accident with myocardial infarction.

7. Should Be Taken with Precautions, if…

Should be taken with care for treatment of patients, who are predisposed to development of convulsive attacks (like patients with epilepsy or injuries of brain), as well as for patients, who take neuroleptic medications;

for patient with diseases of cardio-vascular system, particularly patients, who have arrhythmias, cardio-vascular failure, disorders of intracardial conductibility, with high intraocular tension, patients who are suffering from tumors of renal medulla (which can be caused by diseases of prostate gland) or serious diseases of liver, patients with open-angle glaucoma, in chronic constipations. Patients with these diseases should only take the medication under severe control of attending medical professional.

8. Interface with Other Medications

If it is necessary to combine treatment with Clomipramine Hydrochloride with intake of any other medications, it is recommended to consult with a doctor.

9. Overdosing

 Symptoms of getting overdosed: stupor, drowsiness, coma, insomnia, ataxia, excitement, tachycardia, low arterial tension, arrhythmias, in rare cases - failure of heart, disorders of intracardial conductibility, respiratory depression, vomiting, lack of oxygen, fever, high perspiration, dilatation of pupil, difficulties of genitor-urinary system.

10. Side Effects

Patients should be treated with special care in case of conduction abnormality of miocarda, cardio-vascular failures, arrhythmias, high intraocular pressure, urination disorders, closed-angle glaucoma, severe liver diseases, during electric shock treatment, tumors of adrenal medulla, thyroid gland diseases, chronic constipation. Patients, who have maniacal bent are likely to develop self-destruction as well as the increased probability of anaphylactic shock.

11. Pregnancy and Lactation

The medication should be avoided during the period of pregnancy, except for the conditions, when the expected favorable outcome for mother is more important than possible risk for the fetus.
The active ingredient of medication is excreted into breast-milk, so it is recommended to either discontinue breast-feeding or gradually cease treatment with Anafranil.

12. Driving

It is not recommended to take medication during work, if your professional activity is connected with operation of machinery or driving.
