Indications for Use.

Used for treatment of tachycardia, tachyarrhythmia, flutter of atrial, failure of congestive circulation.

Action

Lanoxin works by increasing the heart rate and force of heart, it moderates the rate of heart and slows down the conductivity of AV. The medication also shows positive moderate effect on the urogenital system.

Posology and Administration

Administration of Lanoxin should be defined individually, depending on the diagnosis and the patient�s peculiarities. The highest dosage for adult patients should be 0.0015g (1.5mg). Posology for children should be determined individually, with the approximate dose according to the formula of 0.05-0.08mg per one kilogram of weight.

Counterindications

Elevated content of sugar in blood, failure of heart, failure of liver or kidney, elderly age, fatness.

Should Be Taken with Precautions, if…

Overdosing or personal sensitivity to drug may cause the emergence or progression of heart block. Patients with thyroid disease should be treated with special care.

Overdosing

Symptoms include block of AV, arrhythmia, vomiting, nausea.

Side Effects

Loss of appetite, vomiting, nausea, bradycardia, headache, ventricular arrhythmia, dizziness. In case of treatment for a long term there is a possibility of problems with color vision, as well as lowering of sight sharpness, blind spots and lacteal glands� pain.
