Gemfibrozil

Indications for Use.

The medication should be used for treatment of patients with hypertriglyceridemia, who didn�t show appropriate response to other medications and curative diet.

Action

Gemfibrozil has the effect of lowering the high levels of lipids and cholesterols in the blood.

Posology and Administration

The medication should be administered for treatment of adult patients in the dose of 0.3-0.45g, taken two times per day 30 minutes before either breakfast or dinner. The full effect of therapy is seen after 3-4 weeks of treatment.

Counterindications

Compromised kidney or liver functioning (like cholelisiasis and biliary primary cirrhosis), hypersensitivity, breastfeeding and pregnancy periods.
